DB Electrical ABO0191 Alternator Compatible with Dodge Ram 5.9L Diesel Pickup Truck 1999-2000 - Replacement for OEM 56028239 & 6-004-ML0-004 - Reliable Power for Heavy-Duty Towing & Off-Road Adventures

The DB Electrical for a 1998-2000 Dodge 2500 Cummins has worked perfectly for me even though it's beencustomized. I added a one-wire regulator and a W terminal to use this in my 1st gen Dodge Cummins. It charges my AGM battery right at 14.6V, and W terminal outputs to the tach as it should; this has worked flawlessly for nearly a year in the extreme Texas weather. I fitted a Continental overrun sprag and that silly squeak that happens when the engine shuts off has completely disappeared (this happens on Denso alternators as well).These are Bosch copies and work well for the price. The diode plate is soldered very nicely to the stator windings, and the avalanche diodes are secured properly. Everything fits as well as a Bosch unit. The only thing I'd say is cheap about the DB alternator is the thin cover. Other than that, it's been excellent.One thing to note if you _do_ customize it for use as a one-wire: The alternator needs to achieve a certain speed to self-excite, which means you have to rev the engine a tiny bit to start charging. The alternative is to install an overdrive pulley. If you're a early water-cooled Volkswagen owner, you know what I'm talking about. :)
