I mostly bought this for the clamp feature, but my multimeter was probably 20+ years old so time to spring for a new one.First, the line splitter confused me. How the hell was I getting 90+A on a 15A device on a 20A circuit and NOT tripping the breaker? Well, the line splitter amplifies the signal 10x (now I know why it says X10 on it). So that explains that. But being able to use the MAX setting meant I could activate the device and not have to stare at the meter. (I'm troubleshooting a device that occasionally trips a breaker).I was disappointed it didn't come with alligator clips for the probes. And Klein doesn't sell them separately. You can buy aftermarket (which I'm waiting to arrive) or a Klein test probe with alligator clips built in. Still, it would be nice to include a set of clips which might cost $5 at most. I'd have even paid $5 more. :DThe case is nice, but small. It fits the meter and probes, but not the additional items in the kit. So it's not really a kit, it's a bunch of items sold as a package.But everything is working well and easy to use. I haven't had reason to measure anything else yet, but when I do, I'm sure it'll work great.(I'm keeping the old Sears one around broken LCD and all. And no, I don't have the right size alligator clips for that one.)Really happy with this. Feels rugged and works great. The 10x line splitter is really convenient for testing appliances, and the backlight on the tester is perfect when you're crawling under furniture to get to an outlet - just plug in the line splitter and appliance, clamp on the meter, spin the dial to turn it on, click the backlight button, then you can get out from under the furniture and watch the current readings easily from afar. Max function works well too, though haven't tested how quickly it reacts to really short transient spikes.I love this meter. It is simple to use, measures everything I need it to, well made, and well priced. I'm not an electrician, I'm just handy and a good multi meter is one of the most useful tools in a tool box. This one does its job well. I especially like the splitter that allows you to use the amp clamp on anything that is 110 volt and 15 amps or less. Klein makes good tools and this one doesn't disappoint. My only complaint is the case. It is not large enough to hold the meter, splitter, outlet tester, and leads properly. It is possible to stuff everything in the case but it barely fits and all the pieces rub against each other. I'm giving the package 5 stars because the meter is so good but I would have liked to give 4½ stars. The case is the cheapest part of the combo. Make a better case Klein!Good tool, easy to use.It's decent product for the price.I initially tried putting in the name brand batteries I already had, and I had trouble getting it to come on. Shifting the batteries around in the battery compartment seem to have an effect. After switching in the generic batteries they shipped with it, it seems to have stopped having this problem, but I confirmed the original batteries were in good condition and tested that their charge was still good. So it seems there's a little bit of fussiness to it.I was able to use it to measure the amperage draw of my appliances in conjunction with the included splitter. But depending on how it was held, it would fail to measure the reading.So overall, it works. I'd image I higher end model would work much nicer. But for my occasional uses, it got the job done.Awesome kit, comes with everything that is amortized including a set of leads. Easy to use and includes instruction pamphlet that is easy to read and understand Have to say I was going around my house checking different appliances with the aid of the line splitter and could not believe how much amperage was being used on certain items such as my toaster and small electric heater.
